Synopsis: "The Ocean Knows No Borders" follows the story of Aunofo Havea, the First Licensed Female Captain in all of Polynesia and the creator of the whale swimming industry in her native country of Tonga, as she inspires other women to face the unknown and break the glass ceiling.

The mission of the Northeast Maritime Institute Foundation is to further the Northeast Maritime Institute's creed of "Honoring the Mariner." Through scholarships and support, the foundation seeks to not only provide scholarships for students, but to further their professional education, training and certification needs for advancement in the maritime industry. Through both charitable and educational purposes, the foundation will turn those students of today into the mariners of tomorrow. The NMI Foundation is a 100% volunteer non-profit organization assigning 100% of all funds donated to scholarship, student support and educational programming.
